Photographing my soul...
Hi! I'm Sally. You can call me Sally or "Mustang Sally". Cliched, I know, but it's who I am. <3 You're probably wondering that the title here means. Well, keep reading and you'll find out. :)
I grew up loving horses, reading every horse book I could get my hands on and collecting every horse figurine that I could fit into my bedroom! A book that I will never forget is Marguerite Henry's "Mustang, Wild Spirit of the West". I read it over and over but didn't think about the wild ones after I became an adult. In 2008, I was traveling through Wyoming and a friend asked me if I'd seen the wild horses. I stopped and stared as I remembered the stories of my childhood. That rekindled my passion for horses and the wild ones as I began to search them out on my travels. It was an amazing and spiritual experience for me when I found them and they allowed me to be in their presence.
Fast forward to today... I've combined my passion for wild horses with the passion of photography. The horses started me into a more serious passion for photography and, when asked what I photograph, I will most likely say that I photograph my soul.
I primarily photograph wild horses but I also love photographing raptors, among other things. I'm based in Colorado and currently shoot with a Canon EOS70D.
